The Fuquay Fly Tying Rod Building Desk

Our larger desk is designed for the serious fly tyer or rod builder who needs more work space to both accommodate efficient crafting and allow for organized storage of tools and materials. Expertly handmade in the USA of solid Alderwood with a handsome “Shaker Cherry” finish. The thoughtful design features a built-in clamp for your vise, and a hole drilled into the work surface to allow for cut-off material waste to be swept into one drawer found in the base. The 8” deep x 46” wide x 14” tall hutch of the “Fuquay” desk has two rows of drawers for materials, and spindles to hold 42 spools of thread. There are a number holes drilled in a variety of sizes to store fly tying tools, and routed trays designed to keep hooks and beads from falling to the floor. At 30” high and 46” wide, the desk top is at the optimum height to reduce neck and back strain while working. There are four 8” x 15” drawers in the desk base.
Our desk now features a custom 3 1/2” round ceramic tile with a choice of beautifully detailed paintings of a variety of fish done by nationally recognized artist Dann Jacobus. For that special touch, we’ve also included a brass plate with the name of the proud owner of this fine piece of furniture.
